Your own mini theater in the woods—be the host, pick the show, and set the vibe. Afterward, head to the campfire to keep the night going with music, stories, and good company.
Double Bear is just a 30-minute drive from Silicon Valley (Los Gatos), but getting here is part of the experience. You’ll travel about 1.2 miles up a steep dirt road, cross Bear Creek, and wind through the mountains, with glimpses of local life along the way. The road is suitable for 2WD vehicles—just be comfortable driving on dirt roads.
Double Bear is a rugged glamping escape in the Santa Cruz Mountains—offering a quiet, retreat-like experience among towering redwoods just minutes from Silicon Valley.
The land is steep and rugged, surrounded by majestic old redwoods—getting around takes a bit of effort, but that’s part of the experience.
Double Bear sits on 83 acres of private land. You’re free to explore, hike, and even help discover new paths into hidden corners of the property—you’ll find beautiful and remarkable surprises along the way.
Be sure to download maps in advance, as cell service can be spotty. Once you arrive, you’ll have access to reliable, low-latency satellite Wi-Fi around camp.

Born and raised in Western Europe, where we spent 40 years shaped by backgrounds in tech and community building, we’ve been driven by a mission to expand access for those with fewer opportunities.
Reviving this once-abandoned land was a deliberate step to reimagine the Double Bear spirit and create a place for connection, discovery, and meaningful experiences. This is not about profit for us, it is about sharing the mountains with others.
We created Double Bear as a sanctuary in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Our yurts are designed to honor the rugged beauty of the land, offering a peaceful escape in harmony with the surrounding redwoods. It is an invitation to slow down and breathe with the forest.
